Professional Profile

Dr Kabir is an NHS Cardiology Consultant at the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre, one of the busiest cardiology centres in the United Kingdom. He qualified from Guy's and St Thomas' Medical School in 1996. He received his cardiology training in St Bartholomews' Hospital, the London Chest Hospital and the Heart hospital, UCLH. He gained a PhD in ischaemic preconditioning from King's College London and has published in peer reviewed journals and presented at international meetings. He actively trains junior doctors in cardiology and regularly lectures for professional exams.

He has expertise in all areas of general cardiology specialising in interventional cardiology, regularly performing angioplasty to treat angina and heart attacks. In addition to this he also performs pacemaker insertions for patients with heart rhythm problems. He is also the lead for the local congenital heart disease service.

He strongly believes in giving patients the time to discuss their medical problems and treating them holistically. He is accredited in both cardiology and general medicine.

Dr Kabir's passions outside of medicine are his family and also the Korean martial art Kuk Sool Won, in which he has a black belt.
